OpenClaw WhatsApp Integration

OpenClaw via WhatsApp Business API receives messages, processes them with AI agent, responds to user. Application: AI customer support, informational bots, internal process automation through familiar interface.

Integration Methods

WhatsApp Business API (official): via Meta Cloud API or BSP (Business Solution Provider — Twilio, 360dialog, Wati). GDPR-compliant, supports template messages, delivery status.

Unofficial libraries: whatsapp-web.js (Baileys) — for internal use without commercial restrictions. Not recommended for production with heavy load.

What Gets Configured

Message webhook reception → message type parsing (text, voice, document) → transfer to OpenClaw agent → AI processing → response sending via WhatsApp API. Voice messages — transcription via Whisper before processing.
